OT The braille note and the index Everest D v4

2016-11-10 Thread becky knaub
Hi all,
Please email me off list if you have an answer to the following questions. I
have a client who is a braille note apex user and we are trying to get her
Everest braille embosser to work with her braille note. Unfortunately it will
work some of the time and then start brailling a bunch of gibberish. If you
know if the braille note actually works well with The Everest and the settings
that I should need to check please let me know. If you could tell me why does
braille correctly and then go to writing in gibberish that would be even more
helpful. Thanks for your help. Please email me at becnc...@gmail.com. if you
can help answer these questions. I wasn't sure where else to turn.

Re: Notes and voiceover

2016-11-09 Thread becky knaub
I have tried it both ways. I find it it is more likely to work going line by
line in edit mode. Unfortunately my client wants to go line by line in notes
when he is not editing but rather when he is reading. Do you notice with his
iPad that sometimes even doing the line by line navigation in editing mode
still doesn't work. Mine does that once in a while. But that is why I decided
not to use Notes and use other apps such as word and notebooks. Thanks for the
help. I appreciate it.

Re: upgrading

2016-09-26 Thread becky knaub
Hi Rebecca,
It's Becky. I hope you and Zeb are doing well. I have the iPhone 7 and I went
from a 5S to the seventh. The seven isn't as big as the six or 6S. In fact it's
just a hair bigger than my 5S. It's just a touch wider and attach taller. Still
perfect for pocket-size. Honestly the real estate is the same as working with
the iPhone 5 or 5S. I like it because it's faster and the home button is
different but in a good way. The battery seems to keep longer. And compare to
my 16 gig 5S my 128 gig seven can store much more. Most features seem to work
just the way they worked on the older phones. The seven does not have a
headphone jack but it does have an adapter that hooks into the charging port. I
myself prefer to use bone conduction headphones (aftershokz) I paired my Focus
40 blue with the seven and it worked great. There's a new way to edit apps and
in that feature you can also share apps. iCloud back up and restore worked
wonderfully for setting up my seven. I really didn't have to do much other did
enable voiceover type in my Apple ID and password and I was done. I'm not sure
what else you want to know but feel free to email me if you have any other
questions.

Re: what voices do you all use now as your default go to voice in IOS 10

2016-09-19 Thread becky knaub
Hi all,
I prefer the Australian female voice (Karen) as she can speak extremely fast
without sounding very silly. I find that Alex sounds really weird when you try
to make him speak as fast as I like my synthesized speech. I do have Alex on my
work phone which is a six because that is the phone I demonstrate to customers
if we could but on my iPad and new iPhone it has to be Karen.

Hi all,
Is the Comcast app for your iPhone or iPad able to audio describe shows and
movies? If so how is it that you activate it? Thanks.
