Hi,

I’m sorry to report that you probably won’t have much luck here.

I purchased a Jawbone Up24 in August 2013, while in a dialogue with Jawbon
regarding the accessibility of their app. the nice lady I spoke with didn’t
know much about VoiceOver, but she tested the app for me prior to purchase and
felt it would work. It turned out to be unuseable, and while Jawbone told me
they would be investigating this further, I decided to return the Jawbone Up
because the app needed a huge amount of work to make it VoiceOver friendly.

I told Jawbone I would purchase the Up again if the app became accessible, but
I ended up going with the Fitbit Flex instead, because of the accessibility.
Fitbit is the most accessible wearable technology I have tried.

I do keep the Up app on my phone to try to keep an eye on accessibility
improvements, but so far, there have been none.

I would recommend returning the Up and going with Fitbit. They have a couple of
new armbands out that can keep track of even your heart rate, and they know
when you are sleeping without your having to put them in sleep mode. I can’t
say for sure that these are accessible, but they don’t require a separate app
from the app that all their other trackers use, as far as I know, so I’m
assuming they would be.

Hope this helps,

Cheryl

Hello Mark,

Unfortunately, I cannot help you with the JawBone Up app, as like your friend I
decided to go with the FitBit Flex because I'd heard it was voiceOver
accessible. I've used my Flex since June of last year and love it.

Hope someone else can advise you.

Katey
