Re: switching to ios only

2018-05-24 Thread danielmcgee134

My Mac book pro will be 7 years old this year and while I still
use it now and then. I find myself using my iPhone and iPad more these days.
Granted back then, I was in college and had to use a computer for typing
purposes. Essays, evaluations course work etc. So a computer was required for
those long typing periods.
I think, whatever situation one is in, you as the user needs to decide for
yourself what kit your willing to learn and depending on your skills with
technology, and platform you want to work with.
At the end of the day, these are tools and one needs to find the right tool or
tools to fit work, or play. If that makes sense.

Kicking an enhanced male voice

2018-05-19 Thread danielmcgee134

Hi all
Please take into account that I wear two hearing aids before beginning this
question.
Ok so I am looking for an enhanced male voice to use just for a change. I
currently use Daniel default.
My choices are: Daniel, Tom or Alex. However, I just can't decide. I try each
for a while, thinking that: yes, this is the one that I'll use. Then I switch
and find another reason to prefer one of my other choices.
Pronunciations I think is where the issue is happening for me. For instance,
Alex is good at reading but to my ears, Tom is better at not saying words
incorrectly. If that makes sense.
Does anyone have any tips in getting use to another voice?

Re: Accessing icloud mail rules on iOS

Hi all, did anyone get my message?
Thanks

Hi all

Trying to find a consistent way in which I can access my created mail rules at

 icloud.com

but on iOS with VoiceOver.

I know it is possible because I have accidentally gotten to the page with a
combination with voiceover on and off.

I can get up to a certain point after login in to my icloud account. However,
once I've reached a certain stage in the steps in trying to access the rules,
it becomes very difficult and this is the part where I had to turn off
VoiceOver. It is also the part where I accessed the mail rules by accident.

If there are any sighted folks on list and who know what part of the process I
am talking about. If you could take a look at your icloud mail rules: if you
have any and try to figure out a workaround from the VoiceOver point of view
and share here what you did, that would be really appreciated.
Similarly, For those who don't know what I'm talking about, just let me know
and I'll provide step by step instructions with how far I got with the process.

Thanks

Outlook and Multi-line text field

2018-04-11 Thread danielmcgee134

Hi all
I like Outlook for iOS very much. But one thing that frustrates me is the
repetition of VO saying: Multi-line text field.
When your trying to review an email for reply and when you try to edit it with
the rotor.
Have any of you seen this behavior with the microsoft outlook app for iOS.
Do you have any theories as to why it could be happening with this stand alone
app?
Thanks
Daniel

Re: What is every ones fave podcast app

2018-01-30 Thread danielmcgee134

Hi, from what you are describing, it really does sound like
downcast would suit your needs. Of course, I understand that if you don't have
the money to buy it then that is your choice to make.
However, if you do have the funds to purchase the app, then I would seriously
recommend reconsidering buying downcast. After all, it's not like your going to
have to buy it on every device you own. I also, just for your information, I
believe the app is going to be updated this year and its going to be quite a
big update jumping to version 3

Note: only downside is that syncing isn't reliable at least for me which is why
I stopped using it but hopefully version three will fix that issue. If syncing
to other devices is a must then at the moment I wouldn't recommend the app.
However, if you don't care about syncing and since version three will hopefully
be released sooner rather than later. I would go for it! It's highly
configurable, accessible with VoiceOver and I think the purchase will be well
spent.

Good luck in deciding to buy the app or not.

I would like Overcast a lot better if it (a) let you see only a list

of downloading lower quality ones when episodes are set to stream. I'd
get Downcast but don't want to pay for it.
