Question about scrolling through channels on Spectrum App using TVOS

2021-07-13 Thread jsabine
Hello all. Does anyone have any tips on how to scroll through the channel
guide on the Spectrum TV App on a 4th Generation Apple TV 4k remote running
the latest version of TVOS? The normal IOS gestures for scrolling through
the list of channels don't seem to work, and neither Apple Tech Support nor
Charter Spectrum Disability Customer Support is in a position to solve my
issue.

Thanks in advance.

Tips for locating NFC port on register while using Apple pay

2021-05-06 Thread jsabine
Hello all.

I just attempted to use Apple Pay at a local Red Lobster restaurant using an
NFC (apparently) at my table. I activated Wallet and held my iPhone 8 near
the reader, but the reader didn't recognize my iPhone. The server was really
no help as she wasn't able to give me enough information about what was on
the screen to guide me. Any information about where on the POS device the
NFC ports might be located on these devices at restaurants would be greatly
appreciated.

Looking for a good tutorial on editing / posting a YouTube video

2020-02-15 Thread jsabine
Hello all.

I realize this question might have been asked previously, but I am looking
for a good tutorial on editing and posting a video on YouTube for Voiceover
users. I already have my channel created, but I'm looking for a tutorial on
how to edit a video, post it efficiently on YouTube and ensure that it gets
the maximum number of hits.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Very Best,

Chris

RE: Nearby Explorer crashes in IOS 13.1

2019-09-25 Thread jsabine
Julian. I agree with you on developers not testing their apps before major
updates to IOS come out. understand about apps like Nearby Explorer is that
they are developed by Blindness organizations with funding from grants and
other resources that are very limited, so not everyone can test their apps
beforehand. I’ve also never had any success with reporting any kind of issue
through Apple. The main purpose of my post was to find any information on who
to contact at APH. Apparently, the issue has been reported to APH, and we can
only hope it gets resolved at some point.

Just my thoughts.

Hello all,

A couple of responses here. If we were not supposed to report such issues to
Apple via Feedback, why do they provide categories to do so? I agree that
reporting to the developer is just as important which I did do on the list but,
I don't see the harm in also reporting it to Apple.

I agree with the sentiment that developers have had access to this beta for
quite some time now and I am both surprised and annoyed to see this happen.
It's not just developers of blindness apps either, last pass which is a widely
used main stream app also suffers from the same problem. Shame on these
developers. That is after all the point of issuing these developer betas early
in the first place.

Same happened with MBraille. The developer said he didn’t have a device he
could put the beta on. So, his devices must be only production devices … now
that the release versions are out there I hope all these developers will get to
work.

I am surprised they didn’t test this, after all, Apple gives developers access
to upcoming versions many weeks in advance just so they can start to test their
apps with said version and to implement any changes or fixes.

The same applies to Flicktype, apparently the developer said he was waiting for
iOS 13 to come out so he had a Stabil platform for testing, but to me that is a
pretty pure excuse, any developer had access to iOS 13 for over 3 months now.

That’s why, it can be prudent, to wait a while before updating. Especially, if
you are dependent on an app.

Hi Chris,

As it happens, shortly after I sent a reply to your message, I saw the
following on the Nearby Explorer list. They are aware of the problem and are
working on a fix. See below for the actual message that was sent out on the
Nearby Explorer list:

Today Apple released its newest operating system, iOS 13.1. In testing, APH
discovered these new updates will cause issues with the paid version of Nearby
Explorer. We are working on a fix, but at this time one is not imminent.

If you wish to continue using the paid version of Nearby Explorer, we recommend
you wait to upgrade to iOS 13.1 at this time. If you do choose to download the
upgrade, you may still use the free version of Nearby Explorer, Nearby Explorer
Online, which is not affected by the updates.

We will keep you updated as we continue to work for a solution, and apologize
for any inconvenience this will create.

Hi Julian. Reporting something like this to Apple Feedback is not effective.
I’m actually looking for a developer contact at APH who produces the app. I’ve
found that generally just reporting an issue as Feedback in the App Store is
never effective.

Thanks Much,

Hi,

I've been having the same problems with Nearby Explorer as well as several
other apps ever since the iOS 13.1 beta cycle started. I have been reporting it
to Apple over and over again via the Feedback app with every update iOS 13.1 up
through today and still not fixed.
