No, movies are no different than music.

You can delete and re-download at will.

I contacted Apple and they said it couldn't be resolved. Does your idea work
with already purchased shows in HD format?

No need to contact Apple. This issue is easily resolved as follows:

1. Open the TV app on your iPhone, and delete the content you wish to
re-download, then close the TV app.

2. Go to, Settings > TV > Video Definition. (This is found under the
Purchases & Rentals heading).

3. Select Standard Definition as your desired download format.

Note: If you select Standard Definition, only videos in Standard Definition
will be shown as an option when you purchase or rent videos. If the title is
not available in SD, you may not find it when doing a search.

4. Open the TV app, and go to your library where you should be able to
re-download the content in SD, if available in this format.

they may help you with it, at least to get the answer if you can downgrade to

Hello Listers,

I recently purchased a series on iTunes and got it in HD instead of the SD
version. I'm listening/viewing the show on my iPhone. Is there any way to
change this since my internet's slow and shows in HD take longer to stream or
download? Thanks for any input.

Hello Matthew,
Thank you thank you thank you for this email. This is great! I contacted him
today and he’s going to build me basically the same thing. The only thing we’re
going to do different is he’s going to add a pause and play paddle. The reason
I contacted him was because I am a musician and singer and I play keys and so I
have my hands busy and I need a way to be able to hear lyrics in my ear.
Sometimes the lyrics are on a document type file and sometimes they are read by
somebody from like YouTube as example. I am so excited about this thank you
again. Have a great day

The interface unit has several buttons on it, but you basically only press the

Subject: Importance of cleaning phone

Hi, list.

I wanted to remind everyone of the importance of cleaning the phone surface
from time to time.

I had a scary experience yesterday. After listening to a podcast in the native
app, something I have had some enjoyable experiences with for the first time
this weekend, I couldn’t make the phone respond correctly.

I couldn’t go to the next podcast I was interested in or close the app. I
couldn’t get to the home screen with my touch I. dD. or unlock the phone with
my pass code, which scared me for fear of erroring it too many times and wiping
out the phone. My swipes were not being responded to quickly or at all no
matter how firm I made them.

Well I tried some actions with Hey Siri hoping I could get somewhere, and had
trouble It misunderstood me and played a song II hadn’t requested, then thought
I was asking about Home Kit as sometimes it doesn’t understand my voice well,
and then opened Maps and started a route I didn’t need, and I couldn’t get it
stopped.

What I thought might have happened was that I had inadvertently activated Zoom,
which magnifys the screen, as the strange behavior seemed like what you get
when both that and VoiceOver are running.

So I needed to pay my cell bill as it was due yesterday and I had planned to do
so through the A. T. & T. app, but of course I couldn’t get there with the
phone not responding correctly, and I was home alone after church. I took a
cab to the nearby store and made my payment in person and had the phone looked
at. The representative cleaned it and everything was back to normal, he
canceled the mMaps route that had been speaking during the cab ride, and I was
able to close Podcasts. I was able to do thing normally on the phone after
that.

Hi all,

Any advice on the best way to transfer audio books etc onto an Iphone for use
with Voice Dream reader? I looked at SD card readers with Lightening
connectors but it looks as if these only work for photographs and not files of
other formats.

Any pointers to podcasts on doing the transfer would be useful.

Many thanks

Subject: RE: Amazon app problem

Hi
I too am experiencing problems with the amazon app. In fact, I spent an entire
afternoon on the phone with customer support trying to fix the issue.
Unfortunately, I did not resolve the problem. I did mention to the customer
support person that I belong to this list and that I understood others were
experiencing issues with the app. I can say that the problem did arise after
November 29th which was the last time I used the app to purchase merchandise.
It was after that date, that I experienced the problem of the app not working
properly.

Here is an explanation of my issue with the app. I added merchandise to the
cart. I then went to the cart and double tapped on the Proceed to checkout
button. It took me to the address book for my account so that I could select a
shipping address. I selected my address and it checked the box. I tried to
check the box under my address which says, use this address for delivery. It
would not check. No button saying to continue to checkout appeared after
checking my address. The only options available were to cancel which was the
back button or at the bottom of the page there was a button that said cancel
and continue shopping.

My husband finally got the appropriate boxes to check in slecting the shipping
address and finally the continue to checkout appeared. Excuse me, I apologize,
the next item to appear was the payment method. Needless to say, my husband
was able to place the order with no problem but he also had turned off voice
over so am not sure now whether the app is still not working properly using
voice over or not.

If anyone is experiencing this issue, I would appreciate any feedback you have.
I do not have one click shopping turned on and wondered if it was a work
around that would allow me to order independently so long as I am shipping to
my home address. Ordering without my husband's help would be a good thing. He
does not need to know how much money I am spending lol.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

That’s all I can think of to check.

I've heard over the years that ITunes can hold of to five authorizations of
I-devices for connecting to the computer, right? Where would I go in ITunes, or
on ICloud, to unauthorize an IPod Nano, and 2 previous ihones, a 3GS and a 4s?
I don't have these phones with me, thus if I need to connect them to clear
their authorizations of ITunes, thus I'm seeking any other way to accomplish
this? Thanks for info.

Along this same line of inquiry, why does iTunes have some songs one day, and
then they seem to disappear. These were songs I downloaded from iTunes as an
Apple music subscriber. They seem to take things off of their site. Is this
really true, and if so, I wonder how you know what they will leave alone and
what they will decide to make go away. Does anyone else experience this?

RE: ITunes's library has missing tracks

2018-05-02 Thread ndagostino3
Hi:

I think I can help you solve this.

In your itunes library there is a file called
Ituneslibrary.itl
Copy this file to your desktop or where ever you want to keep it.

Probably moveing the file would be a better choise.

Once that is done delete the itunes library.itl file out of the itunes library.

Launch itunes and itunes will rescan your songs.

Hope this helps.

The bottom line is put the original itunes library.itl somewhere just in case
something happens with process

If all else fails you do have a previous library folder in itunes and in that
directory there is a file called itunes library.itl
Have a good day.

What are you using it for?

If it is to identify a song that is playing there is a much simpler way which
doesn’t involve downloading any apps. You simply ask SIRI “What song is this”
or “What song is playing”. SIRI will then listen and tell you the song, they
use Chazam as their source.

Hello,

The Sound Hound application is very accessible. The on boarding process is a
little weird. There will be a button labeled at the bottom of the screen “Let’s
Go” You need to ignore the unlabeled buttons as they don’t do anything. Sound
Hound will now ask for permission to use the microphone, location, and access
Apple Music. You will need to at the very minimum let it access the microphone.
After this is all done the interface is very simple and accessible.

Hello All,

I have been in contact with the Apple accessibility people about this problem.
I was told that I would need to use icloud v5.1. According to the information
apple has, version 5.1 is the only version that will work with Office 2016 or
365. All other versions have accessibility problems. Does anyone know where I
can get v5.1? The link the representative sent me was a link for the current
version, not the version I needed. I guess Apple won’t be very happy when
someone reviews the survey I sent.

Thanks

Hello mark, I have the speech always muted if I'm reading with a braille
display. I tried making the font as small as possible, and nothing works. It
happens when it goes to the next page naturally, or when I turn the page. Its
very frustrating.

Also, Overcast is free where Downcast cost about $2.99 or so. I've
been using Downcast for several years and love it. Occasionally I
experience bugs, but I haven't really had any major issues with it.

RE: Book share an voice dream reader

2018-03-15 Thread ndagostino3
Hi:

I am not sure inVdr when you go to settings you can set vdr to use the voices
that came with your apple device.

When you download the books there is a combo box for the format you want to use.

When you want to use another format you can change it in that combo box.

I hope that helped a little bit.

Have a good day.

Subject: Book share an voice dream reader

I hope this is not a completely idiotic question and something I should long to
go have understood.
when I want to download and read bookshare books I see using my iPhone that
there is a picker item list with different formats for downloading the book.
one is BRF one is audio one is Daisy with text and one is Daisy with images. It
says there are eight format choices but that does not appear to be true. The
question is if I do select audio versus Daisy with text are the fourmats being
downloaded all the same? Meaning does voice dream reader download everything to
a particular format?
I ask because I don't like the cheesy voice for reading the books that I'm
given through voice dream. I would much prefer to listen

to the books with the regular iOS voice that everything on my phone is spoken
through. Is there a way to do that? There does not appear to be a way to do
that. There is the option to read now in the book opens in Safari and then
there's something about a particular program that's not accessible with speech
and then the book is there but there's no way to move through it even though
there's a next and a previous and stop button at the top of the page. I think
you can swipe line by line but that there's not enough control to make it
worthwhile. Is there an easy way to do what I'm trying to do?

I certainly think a “Favorites List” or maybe a “Currently Open” list would be
a useful option. I myself tend to have several books “open” at any given time
- usually no more than three - and think this would be helpful.

RE: Help Needed with Screen Recording not Capturing Audio

Apple has something called audio rooting.

I don’t know mutch about it but, you might want to look at that in settings.

Anna,

Thanks for your help. This is the sort of frustrating inconsistency with iOS
and its various devices that I find most offputting. When I follow the steps
you outlined and leave my wired earpods plugged in, I hear Voiceover just fine
through them as I'm making the recording but none of the Voiceover audio is
picked up in the recording. I can hear that the microphone is on because the
low level hiss is picked up but none of the spoken Voiceover words are
recorded. If I have no earpods connected and try to screen record, I can't hear
any audio so that making the recording is all but impossible as I'm not getting
any audible feedback. When I play that recording within the photos app, I can
just barely hear the Voiceover audio but it certainly isn't loud enough to
submit it to anyone for tech support with a Voiceover issue.

I guess I'm stuck either writing Apple Accessibility, opening a case with
AppleCare, or going to the Apple Store. Any of these options will take
considerable time which I find exceedingly frustrating.

Is anyone else having a problem similar to mine or did I just dream a past
similar thread?

Alan

Hi Alan,

I have an iPhone X. I didn't have a luck-up when I turned on the mic. When I do
a recording, VoiceOver gets quieter; I think it goes to the earpiece - but it
doesn't stop altogether. I tried the same thing with a 5s and had the same
results. Maybe try restarting your phone to see if you'll have better luck.

Best,

Anna

Thanks so much for the quick reply. The funny thing is that when I follow your

my iPhone 7 running iOS 11.2.6 to get it back. I seem to recall reading about
an issue with the screen recorder and maybe I've just stepped into it. I really
want to be able to use this feature to record video with the Voiceover audio
but I'm either still leaving off a step or something is not working right.

Thanks again.

Hi alan,

It sounds like the mic was off during the recording. To turn it on, press hard
on the Screen Recording button if you have 3D Touch, or double-tap and hold it,
flick to Open Controls, and double-tap. You'll be able to turn the mic on on
the screen that opens. Once it's on, it should be on for all future recordings
unless you turn it off.

Best,

Anna

I'm reporting an issue with one of my apps and their support person has asked

experiencing. I added the screen recorder control to control center as
explained in the Apple Support article and used it to record a one plus minute
session with the app in question. However, when I retrieved and played the
video from the Photos app, no audio was captured. Is there a bug causing this
issue or is there some step I omitted that is needed to also capture the audio?

I would very much appreciate any assistance so I can submit a recording which
also contains audio.

The volume of VO through the speaker and headphones are two separate settings.
When VO is supposed to be talking through the speaker, press the up volume
button several times to see if you can begin to hear it. Sometimes, the speaker
volume gets turned down for no apparent reason.

Does anyone know a solution to VO not speaking unless headphones are plugged

Things that I have tried include:

Shutting down the phone and powering back up.

Going through Settings and turning VO off and back on.

Turning Siri off and back on.

Fully charging the phone overnight.

VO works just fine with headphones attached.

Siri works just fine with and without headphones plugged in.

I’m not even able to update to 11 as I need to have the headphones plugged in
to use VO and, as far as I know, it is recommended to have the phone plugged
into power when installing the update.

I will try to get to the Apple store today as I’m where there is one. Once I
leave here tomorrow morning, I won’t have access to an Apple Store. Of course
there are no available appointments at the Geneous Bar.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I don't know why it is doing this, quite honestly, I figured it was just my
iPhone 6, it is getting old. But when it does it, take it away from your ear,
and if I can use this word in conjunction with a phone, caress the place that
goes against your ear a couple times quickly, and it will force the sensor that
is supposed to sense that the phone is against your ear to switch back to the
earpiece, and it should stay this time. I'm about to the point of doing this
caress before I even put it to my ear the first time, hoping it won't do that
switching in the middle of a call. I have more of a problem having it not
switch to the earpiece in the beginning.

Voice Dream Reader and braille displays

2018-01-23 Thread ndagostino3
Hi:

Does anybody know how to get Vdr to work with a Polaris braille display.

I would like to read the book on the display or switch back to speech.

I have my Ipad paired with the braille display.

Thank you for any help you can give.
