Re: Jabra extreme 2 with iPhone 5

2013-03-15 Thread Ahmed Khater

Hi Sieghard,

I contacted the Jabra technical support. They told me that I am running the latest firmware. Further, They tried with me several
steps to solve the problem, but to no avail. At that time, I didn't know that Voice Over is the source of the problem. I thought It
was a problem with iPhone 5 in general. But, thanks to one of my friends, who advised me to totally remove Voice Over from the
iPhone memory and try the Jabra Extreme 2, I was finally able to diagnose the problem to be related to a conflict between Voice Over
and this type of speaker on iPhone 5. I know that the speaker works well with earlier models of the iPhone such as 4, 4s and even
3GS with the latest IOS 6 firmware updated. Moreover, another friend of mine, is having the same problem with his iPhone 5 and
another speaker whose model is something like: BT, or so. I am sorry I can't remember the exact name of the model. So, the actual
diagnosis of the problem for me is that, maybe, some bluetooth headsets have a problem with iPhone 5 while Voice Over is running.
When a call is made or is received, we don't hear the

caller but rather we hear our voice via the headset.

I hope that someone could help us sending our problem to Apple for any solution expected. In egypt, we don't have an authorized
technical support technical team for Apple. That is why it is difficult for me to reach them and I don't believe sending them my
request from Egypt via their public e-mail support address would solve the problem.

Thank you for helping me, Sieghard, and I hope we can find a solution to this
problem soon.

Best Regards

Hi Ahmed and Godwin,

I have a Jabra Supreme which is just one step above the headset you have and
mine is working well on my 4S. One thing you might want to check is whether
there is a firmware update for your Jabra. You can find them on the Jabra
website, not the easiest to navigate and it might be easier with sighted
assistance, but it's doable and it may just be that if you have an older
firmware that Jabra has addressed this problem with an upgrade. I believe
you have to actually first install some sort of Jabra updater software which
then allows you to connect your headset to the computer and do the firmware
update.

Regards,
Sieghard

Hello Sir,

I have been crying from the same situation several months ago, and my
message haven't reached the group except for a few of them. I
don't why. I even don't know why my message takes two or three days to
reach the group.

Anyway, the source of this problem is VoiceOver. When it is turned on, the
problem occurs. If it is off, you will use your Jabra
Extreme normally. I don't know how can we address this issue to Apple team,
and whether they will positively respond or not.

Hi folks,

I recently got my iPhone 5, but my Jabra extreme 2 did not work properly
with my iPhone 5. When I make a call or received a call, I don't hear the
caller but rather I hear myself.

Is anyone experiencing same problem? Is there any solution? Should I go for
Jabra supreme? Is anyone successfully using Jaba supreme with iPhone 5 ?

Thanks,

Godwin
