You can certainly continue to use iOS 17, if there will be major security issues Apple will release updates even to versions of iOS which are long gone, recently updates were released for both iOS 16 and even iOS 15 for some security issue. And if you buy an Apple Watch 9 you can certainly update your watch to the latest Watch OS even if your iPhone can't be updated to newer versions of iOS. Currently if you buy an Apple Watch 9 you get Watch OS 10 with it and I assume you will get Watch OS updates for at least 5 or 6 years for that watch. Hello list I am considering to purchase an apple watch 9 but my concern is that my iPhone 11 will probably not be upgradable to the next IOS version next year. So my question is if I would be able to use apple watch 9 and IOS 17 on the iPhone for a few years to come. Due to our week exchange rate here in South Africa I doubt it if I will ever be able to upgrade my iPhone 11.
