RE: Muting a call

Thanks. I’ll give this a try. I couldn’t figure out how to get rid of the
keypad.

Do you have the keypad on the screen? If so you have to first hide the keypad,
the hide button is at the bottom right, if you can find the End Call button
above the home buton you just have to swipe right once from there.
Once the keyboard is hidden the mute button is the top button, here is the
bottons that are present, keep in mind that at the very top is the name or
number of who you are calling followed by the call duration timer:

Mute
Keypad
Speaker
Add Call
Facetime Video
Contacts
End Call

Interestingly enough when I just did a test call to a regular toll free phone
number the Facetime Video button was not showing as dimmed or unavailable, but
obviously it wasn't working and when I tapped it I was kicked back to the
keypad showing on the screen.

Best regards,
Sieghard

figure that out.

While the call is in progress, go to the bottom of the screen to find the Hide
Keyboard button. Double tap it, and the number pad is replaced with a set of
buttons. The first of these, on the left of the screen below the call
information, is Mute. When muted, VoiceOver says it is selected, otherwise it
is simply Mute.

Re: muting a call

2015-02-16 Thread Dave Bahr
wow, that's kinda clunky. Is there some easier way that doesn't take too
long? Wouldn't that get annoying to the caller on the other end? Why
wouldn't apple just make a gesture to mute the call? puzzled look.
