Is Prime Video available for Apple TV over here in the UK yet? If so, has
anyone tried it!

Perhaps I was just hearing things due to the late hour last night, but
it sounded like there were 2 voices of the same kind, like Samantha,
speaking on my Apple TV inside the Prime Video app. Next, it took me a
few swipes on the remote to get it to move anywhere. The first few
swipes would give me the message something like cannot swipe in that

The description of the iOS app said:

* Watch on your Apple TV directly by downloading the separate TVOS app.
Requires Apple TV Third Generation or later.
* Universal search now supported - search for prime videos using iOS
search/SIRI (US, Canada, Australia, Norway and Sweden only
* iPhone 10 support

This is good timing indeed since I just signed up for the 30-day
Amazon Prime trial, now that we have received our Echo devices and
the app is available it will be worthwhile to pay for it and keep it
going.

you have to tell the app you want register your device online, it will present
you with a code, and then you sign in to your account, and go too
amazon.com/mytv <http://amazon.com/mytv>
and enter the code, and you will be good to go.

I would say yes, but iOS/SIRI search is only available for now in the US,
Canada, Australia, Norway and sweden.
Just check your Apple TV, if it's there then it's there.

Re: Amazon Prime Video now available for Apple TV Third Generation and newer

2017-12-07 Thread Wayne Merritt
I had a brief play with it on my 4th Gen Apple TV last night and
noticed a few things. First, there is a voice that starts speaking
when the app detects you are using VoiceOver, along with a VoiceOver
navigation voice. Also, these two voices appear to be the same.
Perhaps I was just hearing things due to the late hour last night, but
it sounded like there were 2 voices of the same kind, like Samantha,
speaking on my Apple TV inside the Prime Video app. Next, it took me a
few swipes on the remote to get it to move anywhere. The first few
swipes would give me the message something like cannot swipe in that
direction. Finally, though I could activate the menus and browse a few
items in the categories, it was a bit frustrating. Hopefully Voiceover
support will improve in future versions. Would be interested in other
opinions since I played with it right before bed.

Amazon Prime Video now available for Apple TV Third Generation and newer

2017-12-06 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi,

Surprised nobody noticed this yet, but when I saw I had 6 app updates tonight
I had a look and the long-awaited and announced app for Amazon Prime Video for
TVOS is now available.
The description of the iOS app said:

* Watch on your Apple TV directly by downloading the separate TVOS app.
Requires Apple TV Third Generation or later.
* Universal search now supported - search for prime videos using iOS
search/SIRI (US, Canada, Australia, Norway and Sweden only
* iPhone 10 support

This is good timing indeed since I just signed up for the 30-day Amazon Prime
trial, now that we have received our Echo devices and the app is available it
will be worthwhile to pay for it and keep it going.

Next' in TV App - Mac
Rumors
Amazon Prime Video finally arrives on Apple TV, months after original
announcement - Ars
Technica
First look: Amazon Prime Video for Apple TV launches on tvOS App Store -

Happy watching,
