Re: An iPhone Functioning as a CCTV?

Here's the link to zoom reader.
ZoomReader by Ai Squared
https://appsto.re/us/4-URy.i

It doesn't say how much it magnifies, and it hasn't been updated since 2012.

Here is another app that claims it magnifies up to 30 X. That's a big-time
magnification. I'm going to try it out on my iPad mini. Here is the link.
Magnifying reader for restaurant bill and menu (30x zoom) by Lilit Yeritsyan
https://appsto.re/us/lMhX2.i

Having an iDevice function as a portable CCTV would be great. I haven’t been
successful in finding an app that will magnify enough for me or flip the text
to negative mode.

Good luck with this, you would think it would be very doable. :)

At one time there was an app called Zoom Reader from AI Squared. I'm
not sure if this is what you are looking for. It was released a ffew
years ago and at that time cost $20. Though it does have some
self-voicing reading functions, its main purpose I believe was to
magnify text like a CCTV.

Re: An iPhone Functioning as a CCTV?

2015-12-02 Thread Tom Lange
Hi.
One of my students posed the same question probably a year or so ago, so I did
some searching through the app store and found a little app called
Magnificicent. After reading about it, I downloaded and installed it, then let
my student take it for a spin and she loved it.  I don't remember its price;
seems to me it was only a buck or two, maybe ?ree tops and for an extra three
bucks you can get its advanced feature set as an in-app purchase.

There are free and paid versions of an app called Magnificent which is produced
by Habitual Digital. Neither is the one you'll want. The Magnificent app that
I'm talking about comes from Mobilica. Check it out!

You might have her try a magnifier app called Visor from the app store. It's
free.

I would have to imagine that this can be done to some extent with the regular
zoom in/out features of the phone without the need of third party apps. Not to
mention the actual zoom accessibility features themselves.
