This is certainly a great tip. And if you think of the next and
previous gestures like turning the pages in a book then the left for
next and right for previous makes more sense.

OOPS! Slight correction here: in my previous post I mentioned pressing dots 4,
5 and 6, then either a 1-3-5 chord or a 2-4-6 chord. When you press dots 4, 5
and 6, press the enter key as well.

2015-01-20 Thread Debby
Hi All,

I tried this on my iPad Air 2, and it works like a charm! It makes reading
threaded email much faster.

 Hi all,

I just found out something interesting about navigating mail messages on
the iPhone. I never new that it's possible to go to a previous message or
to the next one while in an open message by using the 3 finger swipe left
or right. It's the same gesture used to change home screen pages.
Funny that one keeps finding out little tricks even after all this time
 using iOS interface.

 Best,

Re: Cool descovery I made in navigating mail

2015-01-20 Thread Alex Hall
Minor clarification: unless something has changed, the command is enter-4-5-6.
This tells Keysoft to ignore the next keypress, thus space-o will scroll a page
in iOS rather than opening the Keysoft options menu. Since space-2-4-6 is not a
Keysoft command, you don't need to press enter-4-5-6 before it. Again, things
may have changed and I may well be wrong, but there you go.

Hi, great tip. Thanks for sharing. I'm reading and replying to this thread
using my BrailleNote Apex which is paired to my iPhone 6, so I thought I'd
add that on the Apex, you can accomplish this same type of thing by pressing
dots 4, 5 and 6, then doing an o-chord, and, to move in the opposite
direction, press dots 4, 5 and 6, then do a 2-4-6 chord. When you reach the
end of the thread, the phone will give you than bonk sound and won't scroll
 any further.

Re: Cool descovery I made in navigating mail

2015-01-20 Thread Les Kriegler
Iona, thanks for sharing this. I have my messages sorted with the most recent
at the top. So when I swipe to the left, I get to the previous message which is
what I want. Thanks again for sharing this.

Wow, thanks for that, I never knew it either! It looks like a three-finger
swipe left is next message, and right is previous. That seems backward to me,
but hey, it beats always going back a screen and finding, then double
tapping, the next message in line. This will be especially helpful for long
threads. I'm off to tweet about this. :)
