Re: Differences between watch face, and home of the watch
I also like the Infograph watch face. I have it filled with complications, such as battery status, time/date, next appointment, Weather Gods conditions, Noise Level detection for the noise in my environment, Activity rings progress, sunrise/sunset time, and Blood Oxygen. I think there are other faces available, but this one has everything I want. Besides, if there are other faces, I usually get caught up in stuff and forget that I can move between them. RE: Differences between watch face, and home of the watch
You always could have Mickey and Mini Mouse, at least since I had my first Apple Watch sieries 2, but as far as I am concerned it's one of thoese things which are fun for a while but it gets old pretty quick. I find the Infograph to be the most useful, you can have I think 8 complications on it which is about the most I have seen. In any case, since you can switch to a different watch face with a 2-finger swipe left or right it's not a big deal to use different watch faces for different purposes, almost like using multiple desktops in Windows 10. I have the Infograph set as my primary watch face, but I have one which I think is called "Activity Digital and the Solar Dial and I have it set so I can swipe left with 2 fingers from Infograph to get to Activity Digital and right with 2 fingers from Infograph to get to the Solar Dial. This way either one is just 1 gesture away. And then as for accessing frequently used apps you can put the ones you need most in the dock which you get to by pressing the square button. For me this dock is a bit like the taskbar in Windows and The full home screen with everything is then a bit like the start menu in Windows 10, it contains everything, but you rarely need to go there. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Simon A Fogarty Sent: Saturday, October 31, 2020 6:54 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Differences between watch face, and home of the watch Richard, I'm pretty sure you can get mini mouse now as well. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Richard Turner Sent: Sunday, 1 November 2020 9:33 am To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Differences between watch face, and home of the watch There sure seems to be a lot of faces available for free on the watch. But I am trying to comprehend some things. I am trying to get better at understanding my watch, and all the things I can do with it. Ok, so I know I have the watch face. And I understand that there are different watch faces I can have, with different complications on them. So here is where I am a bit confused. What is the difference between the watch face, and the home screen? Now I know when I go to the home screen that I can see all my Apps. Well several of them. And I can of course access them. So is the watch face there just so you can see different things? Such as the time, and your calendar, and so forth? How can having several complications set up, come in handy? I know this all might seem simple for most. And it is. I get the idea to a point. I guess just somehow I am a bit confused. So any help is much appreciated. RE: Differences between watch face, and home of the watch
Yes, as I understand it, the watch face is like your traditional watch with extras. The time is pretty obviously the main feature, but you can add items/complications, at various points around the watch face to have quick access to other information. If I am right, those are like the widgets on the iPhone. I won't have my watch yet for a couple of weeks, but that is my understanding and am happy to hear more and better explanations.
