The discontinuation is speculation for now. At some point the theory goes that Apple will only offer streaming and end iTunes sales. I have never bought music from iTunes. I don’t like the restrictions. Also, when I tried it a couple of years ago, there was limited selection of classic jazz albums

Even though I subscribe to Apple Music, there have been a few cases where I still had to purchase the albums through iTunes, because the album/albums were not available for streaming. I guess the artist/record labels can specify how Apple can make it available to their customer base. If they do
