Hi Debbie, it definitely will not hurt if you send an email to accessibil...@apple.com and tell them that the notification experience in iOS 16 for Voiceover users is not very good and ask them to p[lease fix it so Voiceover more reliably reads incoming

Debbie, the reason you have to do the work by which I mean you have to set up which notifications you want Siri to read is because not everybody wants all or for that matter any notifications read automatically. This is no different from having to select the voice you want or
