The book, Get The Picture, is very good. I've read it.
The author is blind and does a great job describing how to use the camera.
And, no, there isn't a different camera, though there are other apps but you
still have to hold the phone correctly to get a good picture.

National Braille Press sells a book called Get the Picture that
discusses how to more effectively use the camera on your iPhone. I
haven't read it so can't say how good the information is, but here's a
