I couldn't get it to work either, then my wife looked it up. To record an audio
text message you have to hold the record button while recording. To do this
with VoiceOver, do the pass-through gesture; otherwise known as double tap and
hold and do not lift your finger until you are done recording
How and where are you wanting to record your voice message? Is it an
iMessage or some where else?
