Another way to think about it is that you just need to place two fingers on the screen with some space between them and have them move in opposite but parallel directions. You don’t need to actually rotate the screen. For example, you could place your pointer and ring fingers on the screen just

I find the rotor gesture is much easier if you get an old, cheap turn table you know like for playing vinyl records. Then you put your iPhone on it, hold two fingers steady on the screen and turn on the turn table. You just have to make sure the speed setting is on 33, if it's on 45 let alone
