I have had pretty good success with KNFB Reader on envelopes. The key factors
are lighting and height.
You do not need to have it as far above an envelope as you would for a sheet of
paper. Also, make sure it is not on a white background around the envelope

Hi Sandy,
I was using KNFB Reader this morning to verify the address on an envelope
before mailing. I knew that the orientation was correct, but the app didn't
read it and gave me nonsense. I needed to switch to another OCR app on the

I also find that Prizmo is better at reading text when it is
upsidedown.perhaps, I have a setting wrong in the reader app, but if the text
is not up the right way I get gibberish. anyone else experiencing this with
the KNFB reader?
thanks, Sandy

I would like to remind people that Prizmo is also an excellent app!it is
cheaper and reads the text as soon as it is recognised just as quickly as the
KNFB reader does.however, the interface is a little more clunky.I find it is a
great partner to the K and FB reader.that is, if one doesn't

I found Prizmo to be less than stellar when running it on my iPhone 4S. It was

I am getting good results on my iPod Touch 5th Gen. I have found good lighting

witch is not available on the iPod. However I am finding with practice I can

According to Apple Vis the app is half price now.

I haven't been able to verify this since I already own the app. I can't see
the current price when searching for the app in the App Store.

I've just bought the app a moment ago after trying my friend's on last
weekend. I think, if it is around 99USD or 129AUD maybe not, but for
49.95USD or 64.95AUD, Is definitely worth to consider.
