KNFB reader not working as expected
Hi all, Just downloaded the KNFB reader on my iPhone 5 running IOS 8 but all I'm getting is no text found when I take pictures of male and my computer screen at the office. What am I missing? Do I need a5s? Is there a user guide? Kind of disappointed so far! Would love thoughts about what I'm missing! Thanks! It will work on a 5, or so I hear. To find the user guide, go to Settings, then the About tab, and find the user guide option on the resulting screen. I have a little bit of usable vision, and it doesn't look as if the text I'm scanning is showing up on the back facing camera, and I suspect the issue is the case I'm using. It's a Lifeproof Case, and I'm thinking it's blocking the camera lens. Can anyone confirm this? Also--any suggestions about cases that are more suited to using the IPhone with scanner apps would be appreciated. I'd remove the phone from the case and try scanning again to eliminate the case as a possible issue. I really dislike Lifeproof cases so I'm inclined to suspect the case as the cause here. Thanks. That's wasn't my issue. I had my device way to close to the image, so when I took my picture, it couldn't find any text. Thanks for the view report feature--it ended up being a life saver along with the tilt vibrations. I'm sure once I get used to lining up documents with a camera, I'll be able to do it in a snap. Hi , I had the very same problem. I was scanning and no results until I discovered, 9 pages later, that I was in batch mode. When I corrected that, it wanted to read to me the same page nine times. Once that figured out, it's the best OCR app I've ever used. When using the tilt and the text detector, I don't even need my StandScan Pro anymore. I guess I can still use it if I have lots of stuff to do but it works well without it. I scanned a menu posted on the wall at the door of a dining room and it worked perfectly. Of course, the tilt feature doesn't work in the vertical. Wonder what I could do about that.
