I needed 1.9G to download and install 7.1. If 7.1 is already downloaded, you probably need less space than that. You can check just by going into Settings - General - Software Updates. If you don't have enough space, you'll see that message. Otherwise, you'll have a install button available.

guys, I had no idea IOS7.1 had arrived. Every time I look at my iPhone 4 under Software update, it says IOS7.06 downloaded. that suggests that I have to install that and therefore upgrade from 6.x to 7.06 before I can upgrade to 7.1. Is that the case? is there any real point for an iPhone
