You need to three-finger swipe up until you reach the last page, then find the
attachment with your finger and double-tap it. You literally need to place your
finger on the attachment and double-tap it, not swipe to it.

I have never gotten this to work and I’ve observed others trying who also do
not get it to work. I have no difficulty locating the attachment without
swiping, but even so, no luck at all.
For me it has been the almost only unlivable bug.
