Overdrive Question, was Re: Reading epub eBooks on overdrive on IPhone

It is frustrating but very useable once you’ve got to grips with it so I’d hate
for you to not take advantage of the books it will offer for the sake of some
frustration. Happy to provide more details if you need it once you’ve
downloaded it.

Thanks, Robin

Deidre,

As the app is free, as is the service, there is no risk in giving it a try.

Just my opinion.

I was thinking of downloading overdrive until the reference librarian who also
deals with the sump accessibility issues of said it was very frustrating. What
sorts of problems are any of you having, if any.

Hello Arnold,

Yes, iOS overdrive audio books can be sped up to twice the normal playback
rate. And, may I add, the UI to change the playback rate is much better than
iOS iBook or BARD as one selects the playback rate from a menu instead of
having to repeatedly tapping the rate button in order to make a change.

An overdrive question: Can books be speeded up? As of a few years ago, they
could not be. Although I don't listen to books as fast as some do, listening at
regular speed, unless it is extremely well read, is, well, a drag to me. Thanks
for any information.

access their books with Voice Dream Reader.
