RE: Query re how to transfer ringtones not purchased through Apple from my IPad to newly-restored IPhone?

2020-08-04 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi Eleanor,

Have you tried putting them in to a folder via the files app on your iPad and
then from files on your iphone trying to copy / save them to your tones on the
iphone/

I'd also check under the sounds and haptics on the phone under settings and
under the ring tones tab / list there should be an option to download all
purchased tones,

I can't remember but I think some of my tones are made by me and they all come
back to the phone when I update or restore my phone.

Hope this helps.

Subject: Query re how to transfer ringtones not purchased through Apple from my
IPad to newly-restored IPhone?

Hi all

Hoping someone may be able to help with this. I was having a major battery
drain issue on my IPhone 8, which wasn't resolving despite trying all the usual
suggestions. So I ended up being advised to restore the phone, set up as a
totally new device, and not transfer data through an ICloud back-up etc in
order to avoid any possible rubbish/bugs/glitches being brought across. I did
this and it's worked - IPhone is now wonderful.

However, I had a significant number of ringtones which I'd downloaded from
other people/sites (not got through Apple), and these haven't come across to my
phone. They are still on my IPad. So was just wondering if anyone knew of a way
I could transfer my ringtones from my IPad to my phone without transferring
everything else on there??

Any suggestions/methods/step-by-step instructions on how I can do this really
would be much appreciated, as really would like to get all my lovely tones back
onto my phone.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

Eleanor

I only know of using the computer and iTunes to literally copy them to the
device via a USB cable.
You do not sync them.
Do you have the files on your computer?

If you need instructions on how to do this, let us know.
