You will get the prompt to update whether you need this update or not.
Note the message below deals with downloading the installer directly and
not the update to iTunes itself. If you get the popup to update iTunes
then go for it. I did it, and it wasn't an issue. I do have a 64-bit
system,
So, if the update notification comes up automatically as it usually does, does
that mean you do need the update? I do not see the 'alert message' that is
supposed to be quoted somewhere in this message and an thus confused.
