Don’t forget, when you update the OS, it’s indexes everything all over again.
It is common for your battery to do this, as processor intensive tasks are
being performed. Give it a couple of days, and your battery should straighten
itself out.

I don't know how noisy your commute is, but it's possible that the Airpods
are just picking up enough of the background noise to confuse Siri. They
really work better in quieter situations. The IPhone does better at
blocking out surrounding sounds than do the Airpods.
