Re: Aftershokz Bluez audio breaking up?
Yes, this is probably my only complaint regarding this headset. it's bluetooth range isn't very good and certain positions of the phone can easily cause sound to break up. mostly, it's OK and suits my needs but this seems to be a weak spot for this model. I know people talked about a bad batch of Bluez with audio and connectivity problems, but this set works fine for the most part. Any thoughts? Thanks. RE: Aftershokz Bluez audio breaking up?
Hi List, I just had a look at their website and considering that these are a relatively recent device I am surprised they only use the Bluetooth 2.1 standard. Bluetooth 3.0 and 4.0 are much better when it comes to this breaking up issue and it's enough of a reason why I would hold off buying these. Most devices nowadays support Bluetooth 3.0 or even 4.0 so why not use it. You are going to have this problem with most Bluetooth devices. The water in your body blocks much of the Bluetooth signal. The question is, where is the Bluetooth in the headset compared with the phone. Having the phone on the same side of your body as The Bluetooth receiver part of the headset will increase the odds of clear connection. Re: Aftershokz Bluez audio breaking up?
That makes sense. With these, the battery and, presumably, the bluetooth radio is on the back of the neck. With the phone in my pocket, I guess there is a lot of me in the way of the signal. I was afraid of this, given that the connection is just fine everywhere else. Well, time to adjust my usage pattern to fit the technology... Again. :) On 12/26/13, David Chittenden dchitten...@gmail.com wrote: You are going to have this problem with most Bluetooth devices. The water in your body blocks much of the Bluetooth signal.
