Thank you so much for this. I think that this might help us with getting this
all set up for us.

This is so interesting. My husband holds the primary Amazon prime membership
for our house and added me as a household member. We were frustrated the
other night because a movie I bought on my account wasn’t showing up on our
firestick. I wonder if this is the way to share it. Here is what I have found
so far:

Using the Amazon app:

1. Click on Your Amazon tab in bottom of app.
2. Click on Your Account.
3. Scroll down and click on Manage Your Household
4. Click on Manage Your Family Library
5. A section opens with checkboxes for the categories my husband is
sharing with me and what I am sharing with him. There is also a link that says
we should go to in order to Manage content and devices to control sharing of
individual titles.

The checkboxes are not labelled up well, so I’m not sure what to click. I also
do not see a place to share the digital movies I have purchased, so I’m stuck
here a bit. This is where I would probably call Amazon Accessibility. I just
tried the Managed content and devices link and that was an even more confusing
area. I can find the movie I want to share with my husband, but no option to
share it. Seems like sharing books is more straight-forward. Good luck!

Based on the above, I would think that your wife needs to go to this section
and allow sharing of her books with you. Not sure what it looks like from
there. My husband doesn’t do digital books, so I cannot test it.

Subject: Amazon Household

Hello,

Is there anyone on the list who has had any luck with setting up Amazon
Household. If you do not know what this is I will try and explain it.

Amazon Household is a way of sharing your prime benefits with a spouse or
partner and up to four children. With this service you can share all your Prime
movie and tv content as well as your Kindle and Audible books. If you live in a
home in which you and your partner both have separate Amazon Prime account such
as my wife and I do, with this service you will be able to remove one of those
Prime accounts so that you will only have to pay for one.

With Amazon Household each member still uses their own Amazon account to make
purchases, but the members share all payment methods assign to said accounts,
so you must make sure that you trust whomever you add as a Household member

I hope that I explained that well enough. Now onto the issue that I have had
with getting this set up.

I created an Amazon Household account for my wife and I so that we could get
rid of one of our Prime accounts to save a little money.

Now I can’t seem to figure out how to get everything set up so that I can view
her Audible books so that I can get one from her account so that I can listen
to it. I know that I could simply log into her Audible account in the Audible
app, but because I am a big geek, I would really like to try and do it through
Amazon Household so that I can see how it works.

If anyone on the list uses this service will you please let me know how you got
everything set up? I am not sure if the problem I am having is an accessibility
problem, or if it is just me not quite understanding how it is suppose to work.

Thank You,

Scott

Yes, you explained it well, but just in case some of the Canadians ask about
it, it is not available in Canada, at least not yet.
