You can only use what Apple offers. You might want to check out Tom Enhanced,
it is a pretty good male voice.

Very likely.
Knowing the name of the voice will help.
Then, go into the VoiceOver Speech settings, and double tap on the default
voice, and see if it is in the list.
You may have to add a voice or language, depending on which one it is.
