To turn off spell check on the mac go to System Preferences, Keyboard and the
options are in the text tab.

Hi Brent, no this is not carrier specific. It requires you to be signed in with
the same Apple ID, and on the same Wi-Fi network.

Preferences, General on your Mac that Handoff is enabled, and there is a
Handoff settings in iOS as well.
