Hi, I have just discovered that my phone seems to work better for getting
VoiceOver when it is in land scape. Others? I find the same thing in Skype.
However, one Skype question. I double tap the speaker button in Skype when
on a call and nothing changes. It still comes through the ear piece.

First of all, if you hold your phone close to your ear the proximity sensor
engages and it locks the screen. You can touch the screen all day long and
nothing will happen. The way Apple has solved this is that if Voiceover is
running, the speakerphone will automatically turn itself on
