You may have to update the Apple mobile device USB driver. I can't remember

You should be able to see the iPhone like a usb stick only the photos and
videos you take will be accessible that way.
Try rebooting the computer while the iPhone is plugged in. A popup should
appear on your iPhone asking if you want to trust this computer. Make sure you
double tap on trust
Would this work in, say, a Twitter app? That would be really neat if it did.

The only thing I can think of is reachability, when you double tap the home
button, not press it. You’re probably doing it and not realizing it.

mail later. Also got a message while doing laundry, phone in pocket so I
should have heard the tone.
Also sent iMessage last week and it appears it never got to intended person.
All in all I think they spent too
