I've looked all over the place for this answer with no success. A friend
told me that he got a message on the screen of his iPhone 5 from T-Mobile
saying that a carrier update was available and asked him if he would like to
allow it or not. He allowed it and got the update. That

They basically plug in the settings for data and MMs. These settings are found
under Cellular, and can be entered manually as well.
