Hi all. Was thinking of getting one of the tp-link mesh wifi systems as
amazon has a good sale on it now and I have been impressed with their
routers and other things I have owned. Anyone know how usable the app is
with voice over. since there is no web GUI I will have to use the app
What is TP smart plug?
Operate any electronic device remotely with this TP-Link smart plug. It
connects to your Wi-Fi network and syncs with your smartphone via the Kasa app
so you can easily turn on and off any plugged-in device or schedule its
operation while you're away.

Have you enabled the appropriate skill in the Alexa app? This should then take
you to whatever website TPLink uses and you would have to sign in there with
your TP Link or Casa user name and password.

Hi, I have been using the app and Alexa for a while now. I use it for lamp
switches, not the wall switches that are also available. The system works well
once set up.
The Kassa app is ok if I remember rightly. You don’t really need it at all

Hi Sieghard,
I've found the Kasa app accessible but I must offer this disclaimer that I set
up my one smart plug over a year ago and haven't really used the app since that
initial setup. I have my one TP-Link smart plug tied to my Echo devices and use
Alexa to turn the lamp attached

Hi,
Just wondering if anybody can speak to the accessibility of the app for these

called that.

Hi, my experience with the TP link and its Kasa app is pretty good.
However, I was unable to set specific schedules in the app withvoiceover; my
sighted wife had to do it. I have written to the Kasa developer and reported
this as an issue. If everyone would do this then it is possible

Don,
If there is a way to set up user defined times to turn the TP Link smart plug
on and off via the Kasa app, I can't find them. I do enjoy using my Amazon Echo
to turn the lamp connected to mine on and off.

I had no difficulty downloading or installing the Kasa app on my iPhone 6

very well, specifically it manually turns
