I think some of these smart thermostats are overpriced and are trying to be too
smart. This is why I like the Honeywell Lyric T5, it’s reasonable, it offers a
schedule of course but it doesn’t pretend to do anything else like “learn”.
Granted, Honeywell has the “Round” thermostat which I think
I have the Nest, which works great with the iPhone, but not 100 percent
accessible with Alexa.

Without knowing the country I would say to take a look at the Honeywell Lyric
line of WiFi smart thermostats. Here in North America the T5 is quite
reasonable in price and it works well and has a very accessible app, it is both
Apple Home Kit and Alexa capable so you can use either SIRI

are using. The VIP 1007 bit the dust and I am looking for different options
including, but not limited to talking thermostats. I know
I doubt it is compatible with the Honeywell Home app which used to be called
the “Lyric” app as it is for the Lyric family of devices.

I think I know why we have the discrepencies. I’m using the Honeywell
Total Comfort Connect app, not the Honeywell Home app. I didn’t realize
there was another app from Honeywell that would control the thermostats.
I’ll check it out. Thanks for your detailed descriptions.
