Audio Settings - Re: YouVersion Bible Question

2015-01-16 Thread Karen Poulakos
I selected a version that has audio settings, and found the audio settings
button at the bottom of the screen. However when I tap the audio settings
button, nothing happens.

I turned VoiceOver off, and had my husband take a look, and he got the audio
to play. When I turned VoiceOver back on, I was unable to find the button
to turn the audio off and on.

Check to see if your bible has audio already. If you have an audio
version, at the bottom of the screen you will have an audio setting.
You may need to download the audio version which you are using. Not
all versions of the bible have audio associated with them. To do this,
choose menu from the top left of your screen. Then at the top right
double click on the version you are reading. Go down the list of
bibles and you will be told which have audio versions. You will need
to download the audio.

Re: Audio Settings - Re: YouVersion Bible Question

2015-01-16 Thread carol.pearso...@googlemail.com

Hi Karen,

Hmm! This could be another VO bug, perhaps. Before deciding this, perhaps
you could just keep VoiceOver on and slide your finger gently, quite slowly,
across the screen to find the Play button. Sometimes, when the buttons are
small, you only find them by going slowly. (Your husband may well be able
to tell you where to go for this.) If you can get the button to speak, then
double tap as close as you can get to the button and see what happens.

If you can't find the button with the speech on, I suggest you report it to
Apple Accessability and I'll do likewise, once I've installed a version that
speaks.

Again, if you do locate the button and double tap and it still doesn't work,
please report it. You can also report it directly to the techs who maintain
the app, but I can't remember the procedure now as it's quite some time
since I last did that. You should find those details somewhere in Help.
Sorry, I don't have the time to do this now as we're shortly going out.

Hope this helps a bit.

2015-01-15 Thread John Diakogeorgiou
Check to see if your bible has audio already. If you have an audio
version, at the bottom of the screen you will have an audio setting.
You may need to download the audio version which you are using. Not
all versions of the bible have audio associated with them. To do this,
choose menu from the top left of your screen. Then at the top right
double click on the version you are reading. Go down the list of
bibles and you will be told which have audio versions. You will need
to download the audio.

 First open the bible app.
Next go to menu and then choose read.
Next at the botom of the screen choose audio settings you can get there
faster by doing a 4 finger tap.
 Next after that choose play.
I don't know if this works for bible plans too or not so try at your own
 risk.

Subject: YouVersion Bible Question

A friend at church shared with me that the YouVersion Bible has built in
speech, which reads the Bible out loud. I'm not sure whether it's actually
reading the screen, or whether it might be a recording. When my friend
demonstrated it for me on her phone, I really liked the way it read much
better than with Voiceover. It didn't read all the verse numbers, and the
reading was much smoother.

I have the YouVersion Bible on my phone, but can't seem to find a setting
that will have it read using its own voice, or recording. Can someone
please Help?.

Thanks,

Karen P

RE: a YouVersion Bible question.

2013-02-23 Thread Jim Noseworthy
Hi Again folks:

I've resolved the problem. The problem was that when I requested a
reference via dictation, the numbers were treated as words thus, the lookup
faled. The key is, to prefex the number with the word NumberSign.

Blessings.

Subject: a YouVersion Bible question.

Hi Folks:

How does one dictate a search for a particular bible reference using the
YouVersion app? I've tried all kinds of combinations but, so far, no joy.

Any help would be appreciated all over the place.
