Resolved!!! RE: applevis.com has no search box
It surely would have been nice if someone from Applevis had acknowledged this on the list instead of doing everything in the dark. I'm just glad it is back. I will mention in closing that Thomas has done several podcast that is on the site that goes over and explains how to work with all of the new features of ios 14. If you go to Applevis.com on an iPhone (I sued Edge), I had to tap on the button near the top which says something like "Toggle Navigation and Search", once I double tapped on it the search field sdhowed up and it it very common on mobile sites to hide things like the search field in order to make the site less cluttered. Re: applevis.com has no search box
I just went to Applevis and did an f-thing and found a form field and a Search button. I'm using Edge and Windows2004 or whatever the latest update is called. I can't see any Braille, and can't verify anything I type in to fields when I use Edge, (am using JFW2018), so haven't tried doing a Search. Sorry couldn't be more helpful. Coffee is wearing out, and have no brain cells left. Re: applevis.com has no search box
Hello, I went to the applevis site on my Mac and the search field that used to be there is gone. I set my rotor to form fields and its just not there now. This is strange. RE: applevis.com has no search box
Hi all. Searching for apps and recommendations using applevis has always been difficult for me. I admit that I’m not the best at using the web, so that’s probably part of the problem. However, I have learned to value the opinions of people on this list. I trust the information that is given because it’s based on personal experiences of people I’ve learned to trust. Please be patient with those of us who aren’t as computer savvy and continue to share your expertise. I appreciate all the help and information Ive gotten from you all. Thanks for being willing to share. God bless! There are no search boxes, none, nada, nowhere. If you are looking for information on an app, you cannot simply search for it. You have to drill down through many pages to get anything. Even, after following the link from the main page titled, “Apps,” and you find the heading for Apps, it says: Apps article Here at AppleVis we strive to make it easier for you to find great and accessible apps to use on Apple products. >From this page, you can browse and search our directories of iOS, iPadOS, Mac, >Apple Watch, and Apple TV apps; see what apps others are recommending; and see which iOS and iPadOS apps our community has inducted into our Hall Of Fame. So, I followed the link to search, then you have a bunch (I was going to say s***load, but thought better of it) of more links with not a search box anywhere to be found. So, at this point, applevis is only marginally useful, especially for someone who is a beginner. I have been using iDevices since they became accessible and can find what I need most of the time without resorting to asking too many questions on the list, but I used to always refer people to Applevis, especially for their blog about updates, and I will still recommend that. But as a source to find information about specific apps, or just apps in general, it is a crazy rabbit-warren of trails that I won’t be bothering with. Re: applevis.com has no search box
Interesting. There was a search box on AppleVis as of a few days ago. They must have done a site update recently. I often go to AppleVis to search for apps or other items, and this is the first time that I've noticed it gone. Granted, even when I do a search, I still have to dig down a few layers/pages to find what I want. Perhaps someone from AppleVis can speak to this, since I know they lurk on this list. Well, there's always the good old Google search for finding specific information, but I also know not everyone is comfortable with that too. Re: applevis.com has no search box
Following up on what Richard just said about Applevis, one suggestion for any on this list who subscribe to SERO, which was the original inventor of System Access will find under entertainment on their APP under podcasts the latest iOS offerings from Applevis. But otherwise, surprisingly, their website isn't as easy to navigate as they claim. Personally, I intend to read about iOS 14 for several more weeks, at least, before allowing my phone to be updated. I addressed my personal concerns about updating in a post earlier this week. I'm an older person who has begun to appreciate getting to know new things a little more before plunging into the new worlds that updating creates. Also, on a very positive note, I appreciate all the chatter on this list about recommended APPS, whether I actually use them or not. Peace & Blessings, Pastor Duane L. applevis.com has no search box
Following up on the comment about people needing to use Applevos.com before asking questions on this list... I just went to Applevis.com with Microsoft Edge and with Firefox. There are no search boxes, none, nada, nowhere. If you are looking for information on an app, you cannot simply search for it. You have to drill down through many pages to get anything. Even, after following the link from the main page titled, "Apps," and you find the heading for Apps, it says: Apps article Here at AppleVis we strive to make it easier for you to find great and accessible apps to use on Apple products. But as a source to find information about specific apps, or just apps in general, it is a crazy rabbit-warren of trails that I won't be bothering with. Richard "He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself," and we forget that only grace can break the cycle of ancient hatreds among peoples. (It is notable that while I have regretted not granting grace to others, I've never once regretted extending it.)" - Edward Herbert -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
