Hey, that's an absolutely fantastic idea! And you could probably make it even better by sewing it to fit over the entire unit like a shower cap, so nothing gets dirty--not just the Braille cells. My sister- in-law sews; maybe I'll ask her to whip me up some covers for my BrailleNote PK,

the Braille Sense U2 has a removable battery pack. It's lithium Ion and those things have a pretty long shelf life, but after 5 years, they are starting to wear thin. I could also probably take the battery module over to Batteries Plus and have them rebuild it. That will cost about $80 or so.

I use my braille sense with a silk cover over the unit. I can read the braille through the silk. This does 2 things: 1. keeps the cells clean 2. keeps my fingers off the dots (no chance of them getting dirty). The silk cover can be cleaned with woolite or even dawn dish soap. I have had my
