or phone number. Two questions here. How can you make a face time call
just using an email address, and how can you make a face time call to
someone that is not in your contacts? Thanks much for any help.

I'd assume the email address means the email address used for their
Apple ID.

The way Facetime works is that it associates the device you're using with an
Apple ID and then with email addresses and phone numbers. When you make a
Facetime call, you give the Apple server an email address to contact, it then
reaches out and sees if that address is associated with an Apple

You can do this with the messages app by selecting compose but there isn't an
equivalent in Facetime as far as I can tell.
