RE: how to add contacts to home screen

2020-04-20 Thread Carolyn
Well, that's me, now that I have become accustomed to making my calls myself.
However, my husband and friend have a point when they say that I don't have to
open phone and go to Contacts or Favorites, just get Siri to make call, almost
as fast as speed dial.

I know Siri isn't always possible, but telling Siri to call XYZ's home phone,
or work phone, etc., is much faster than littering your home screen with
peoples contacts ... just my opinion and I'm stuck with it. Grin.

If you put focus on your Favourites tab in the Phone app this is where you land
each time you open the phone app and this way you can access all your

Hello Dennis,

You ask an interesting question.

So, many, many years ago, say around 2008 / 2009 , when one could jailbreak an
iPhone, there was a way to add a specific contact directly to the Home screen
in order to more quickly call the contact.

As far as I know, such a feature was never offered in an a commercial release
of iOS. Moreover, I haven’t heard of anyone jail-breaking iOS in quite a long
time.

That is what my husband and my girlfriend tell me. It is hard to get used to
just asking her, because when I first went with Consumer Cellular, I had some
problems getting connections.

The guy at Consumer Cellular said I'd probably have excellent luck by just
doing them my self, and he was right. So, I really got into the habit of doing
them myself. In the meantime, Consumer got better access and offered more data,
plus I'm on AT now, no problem about calls. Especially in a loud place, like
a busy restaurant (will we ever be there again?) it will be better to use Siri.

RE: how to add contacts to home screen

2020-04-20 Thread Richard Turner

As far as I know, such a feature was never offered in an a commercial release
of iOS. Moreover, I haven’t heard of anyone jail-breaking iOS in quite a long
time.

Hello Dennis,

You ask an interesting question.

So, many, many years ago, say around 2008 / 2009 , when one could jailbreak an
iPhone, there was a way to add a specific contact directly to the Home screen
in order to more quickly call the contact.

As far as I know, such a feature was never offered in an a commercial release
of iOS. Moreover, I haven’t heard of anyone jail-breaking iOS in quite a long
time.

Mark

I'm not aware of any way to do that.
Have you asked Apple?
