The work around I've found for all of Facebooks craziness, I use beta facebook. 
I have been using beta facebook for almost 5 months & I have not experienced 
any bugs that others have reported having. 
beta.facebook.com I use the Facebook app rather than the website, for me it is 
easier to use.

Just try to do one finger double tap on the status bar.
If that doesn't work, scroll down with three fingers to refresh the 
page, then double tap on the status bar again.

I wonder why some of us don't have this issue then. I checked and my Facebook 
app was updated yesterday so I assume that would be the latest update.

No problem here, either.
Make sure you didn’t accidently turn on screen recognition for the Facebook app 
as it does all sorts of weird things.
