Subject: How can I get better at using my camera

Hello once more everyone,

Well the subject pretty much says it all.

How in the world can I get this camera to work better for me?

Is there a different camera I can install, that is more compatible, and
easier to use?

I just don't understand how totally blind individuals can seem to use
the camera. I have tried several times.

But when I use Tap-Tap-see, all I am told is that my photo is dark.

Is there an app out there that possibly help me focus on things, better?

Thank you for any help or suggestions I might get.

RE: How can I get better at using my camera

2017-11-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I am not sure if Tap Tap See uses the flash, but since it has not Settings
option where you can turn it on or off I assume it uses it automatically, i.e.
if it’s needed. Anyhow, if it says your picture is dark then obviously you need
to make sure you turn on some lights. If you ever have a sighted person around
it would probably help if you could practice with them as they can give you
feedback directly as to what you might be doing wrong.
I haven’t read the book, but I was sighted until I was almost 17 and while this
is now over 30 years ago I had an old SLR camera back when I was in my early
teens and my brother had one also with a bunch of lenses which also fit on my
camera and I was always outdoor taking pictures of birds, wildlife and scenery
so taking pictures with my iPhone I find pretty straight forward especially if
they are close-ups like when you take a picture for OCR or of a product to be
recognized.

Sieghard

The book, Get The Picture, is very good. I've read it.
The author is blind and does a great job describing how to use the camera.
And, no, there isn't a different camera, though there are other apps but you
still have to hold the phone correctly to get a good picture.
