Re: Article about Apple Music and iTunes Match

according to their information page which I read today. Apple music and
itunes match will complement each other but will be separate. Thus, it
seems that if you already renewed your iTunes match that subscription
remains and you would still have to get apple music separate.

It will be integrated into Apple Music. According to Q who posted some
tweets over the weekend, that's Eddie Q and not Q who writes accessible
software, you will only need to subscribe to one service, not both.

Hi all,

FYI, I’m pasting a link to an article from a generally trustworthy
iOS blog. According to information posted publicly on Twitter by Eddy
Cue, those who purchase a subscription to Apple Music won’t need a
separate iTunes Match subscription as the functionality will be
built-in. As well, apparently there’s a chance that the 25K song
limit will be bumped up to 100K for iOS 9. Here is the article:

RE: Article about Apple Music and iTunes Match

2015-06-29 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I assume it will just be a matter of time until Apple offers a lossless stream
in the Apple Lossless format. Of course I would still only pay for it if it
were fully supported and accessible via Sonos since a lossless stream only
really makes sense if you have fairly high-end equipment. Anyhow, Deezer I
believe says they also have 35 or 37 Million songs and while I’ll of course
subscribe to the 3 months free trial of Apple Music I doubt I continue as a
paid subscriber for the time being. But I have changed my mind before so who
knows!

Agreed. I'd pay for this immediately if everything came in as ALAC format
(since Apple refuses to support FLAC *sigh*)

Hi all,

FYI, I’m pasting a link to an article from a generally trustworthy iOS blog.
According to information posted publicly on Twitter by Eddy Cue, those who
purchase a subscription to Apple Music won’t need a separate iTunes Match
subscription as the functionality will be built-in. As well, apparently
there’s a chance that the 25K song limit will be bumped up to 100K for iOS 9.

I looked at the twitter page but did not see any information concerning those
persons who have recently renewed their iTunes match subscription as to whether
they will be refunded once they start an Apple music subscription, will the $25
they just spent for the year somehow be used to cover so many months of the
Apple music subscription price.

They are separate services. This happens a lot with various services where you
barely get something, and then the new one comes out. I doubt there will be a
conversion, but match will still exist. I'm not sure if you get better quality
files than Apple Music will stream by default, but I imagine the match stuff is
downloadable DRM free, where I imagine the Apple music stuff has DRM on it to
make it expire after you cancel.
