Re: Bluetooth earpiece for noisy environments

2018-04-09 Thread Traci Duncan
Good to know, and maybe something more modern than my M50, will be an
improvement.

It’s mostly for quick situations. Ordering a ride or checking in at an event.
I’m not on my phone much while out with friends and family.

Yes and yes. Again though, there's loud and there's loud. Keep in mind, an
earpiece can only do so much.
If you're at some place like a packed sports bar or downtown Los Angeles during
full rush hour, don't know if anything outside of some dedicated noise
canceling over the ear headphones are going to give you what you want.
But for regular to busy every day ambient noise? Sure...

Re: Bluetooth earpiece for noisy environments

2018-04-09 Thread Andy Baracco
Do you want to cancel out the outside noise, or do you want to hear both the
audio from the headset and the outside noise as well. If the latter, for an
ear piece I would recommend the plantronics Voyager Edge or legend. For
stereo, I would recommend the Trex Titanium from Aftershokz.

RE: Bluetooth earpiece for noisy environments

2018-04-09 Thread Cristóbal
I've got a Plantronics 5200 bluetooth earpiece which is the successor to the
Plantronics Voyager Legend. It's got 4 microphones and a boom mic. In my case,
I use it mainly for business purposes. I've also got a set of Aftershokz Trekz
Air for every day usage for podcasts, audiobooks, and using my iPhone in
general.
They both work fine when out and about, but I don't know if you'd be asking for
more than what's currently possible with bluetooth as far as concerts and
such. Outside of something like a complete noise canceling or over the ear
headset solution, there's only so much an earpiece can do if you don't want to
raise to volume so high that the audio gets distorted anyway and even then, an
earpiece can only do so much.
But for general use when out and about, the 5200 is fine.
