Re: Question for those trying to access the latest Audible sale on your iPhone

2018-05-21 Thread Robert Carter
Hi,

I got this email also. I was able to add the two books from my wish list to the
sale screen. At the bottom of the sale screen is a bar that shows that the
books have been added. Apparently there is an arrow to the right of the bar
that one has to click on before the system will advance to the proceed to
checkout button. This arrow is not visible by VoiceOver on the Mac.

I called Audible tech support and they remotely connected to my Mac and clicked
the arrow. I was then able to proceed with the checkout.

I asked the tech support person to report this lack of accessibility to the
Audible web developer.

Thanks, Kathy. Now that I know it isn’t just me, yes, I will call and complain
tomorrow. I might also employ cited help in the meantime to get to that view
all books page and then bookmark that temporarily. What an annoyance. They’ve
never done that before. I have bought lots of things on sales with these two
for one deal, and this is the first time I’ve seen this.

RE: Question for those trying to access the latest Audible sale on your iPhone

2018-05-20 Thread Kathy Kalaluhi
Hi Mary
I just tried to access the site by clicking on the general link to view all
books for members. When I reached the page after signing in, I got exactly
what you described. Like it is flashing a sign and it kept reading how many
hours left in the sale. I was able to scroll down a page and swiped to see
what would be read to me and it would read a line and then cut off with that
flashing announcement or whatever you want to call it. While swiping however I
did hear "view all books" and I quickly tapped on it before it would read the
flashing announcement again. It took me to the list of books on sale and the
flashing announcement disappeared..thank god. That truly is annoying. All
I can suggest to you is to do as I did. Once you get to the page where it has
the flashing announcement, swipe until you hear view all books being read. I
scrolled down using the three finger up gesture to get to the next page and
then began swiping. As soon as you hear the word, view, double tap. You will
be tapping on that link regardless of what is being read by voice over. That
is if you are quick enough. Next step, call and complain. Lol
Good luck.

RE: Question for those trying to access the latest Audible sale on your iPhone

2018-05-20 Thread Kathy Kalaluhi
Hi
I received an email today too from Audible informing me that one of my books in
my Wish List was on sale. There was a link following the title of the book and
I tapped on that and it took me directly to the summary of the book listing. I
had no issues accessing the sale in this way. I do not know if you would have
received a message of the same kind i.e. informing you of a book in your Wish
List being on sale. But, if there are any recommended books, try tapping on
one of the book links and then go from there.

I got an email today advertising an audible sale which is good through the
24th, two books for one credit. I have access these before on my phone. But
when I double tapped on the provided link, Safari open, and I kept getting a
repeated message about the sale. It is as though there is some kind of flashing
something or other at the top of the page which is continually capturing
voiceovers attention, making it impossible to navigate and understand what is
on the page. Is anyone else experiencing this, and is there a workaround?
Mary
