I found this on the web. Easy things to try.

Part 1. iMessage/Messages Not Delivered/Sending After iOS 13/12/11 Update

You may be just chatting with your friends with iMessage but only to see
iMessage not showing delivered/sending on your iPhone or iPad after upgrading

to iOS 13.

How to Fix:

Make sure you have connected to Wi-Fi or 3G/4G network.

Tap the ! alert option and try again.

Turn off and turn on iMessage: Settings > Message > Turn off and turn on
iMessage.

Reboot your iPhone or iPad.

The only one in that list no one with this issue has mentioned trying is
turning Messages off in settings then turning it back on.

I’ve found several issues got cleared up just by toggling the setting in
question off then back on.

It will say below that on/off button:
Send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable. Carrier messaging rates may apply.

Hi all.

Did we ever come up with a solution for text messages that do not get
sent to recipients who have Android phones? There is NO, I repeat NO, “retry”
button on my screen. The person I text most often has an Android phone.

Do I need to download a third-party texting app to send texts to
Android phones? And can I just say, what the heck is Apple playing at here?

Susie, who is a bit frustrated, if you can’t tell.

None of the texts I have sent that have been undelivered have had audio or
pictures attached. And I have always had send as SMS turned on. Again, the
only thing I have found that has consistently worked is to leave messages to
the problem people in my messages app. Since this workaround has worked 100%,
I have not bothered to call Apple support.

Subject: Revisiting: Messages Not Being Sent

Hi all.

Did we ever come up with a solution for text messages that do not get sent to
recipients who have Android phones? There is NO, I repeat NO, “retry” button on
my screen. The person I text most often has an Android phone.

Do I need to download a third-party texting app to send texts to Android
phones? And can I just say, what the heck is Apple playing at here?

Susie, who is a bit frustrated, if you can’t tell.

I have had a problem with that, but am not texting with that person as
regularly as I once was, so did not know if it still was a problem. I texted
with my cousin in Houston, who swears by her trusty Samsung, and received a
reply from her. Maybe Apple just didn't know? You think?

Subject: Revisiting: Messages Not Being Sent

Hi all.

Did we ever come up with a solution for text messages that do not get sent to
recipients who have Android phones? There is NO, I repeat NO, “retry” button on
my screen. The person I text most often has an Android phone.

Do I need to download a third-party texting app to send texts to Android
phones? And can I just say, what the heck is Apple playing at here?

Susie, who is a bit frustrated, if you can’t tell.

RE: Revisiting: Messages Not Being Sent

2019-10-18 Thread Susie Stageberg
So if I send another message, the first one, the one that failed to send, will
be sent?

But what if I only want to send one message, like “I’ll be there in ten
minutes”?

In settings, Messages, is send as SMS on?

It will say below that on/off button:

Send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable. Carrier messaging rates may apply.
