your last update?  We are going to check ours out.  Just out of curiosity, what 
is the name of your app?  The last time we used it, it was almost impossible to

Just tried the Webber app again and it works.  Looks like they fixed the issues 
we were having getting it to work.  I was able to choose everything and keep

Now that the app is apparently working, I am curious about the mini. What I 
actually want to use it for is not a grilling thing at all. I would like to be 
able to keep track of the temperature of meat cooking in the slow cooker or in 
a slow oven. Not necessarily a lot of room in there in my slow cooker for a 
chicken and a pro, but I haven’t seen the probe. Has anybody used this device 
in that context with something in a slow cooker?

I only need to track one item, so I bought the iGrill Mini for about $40.00.

 

They make them with multiple probes if you want to track more items.

 

Amazon seems like a good place to check.

battery status and when the battery is low it pops up a message letting you

we have the iGrill that has room for 4 probes.  We grill a lot and with 
multiple things at different thicknesses and we also use an ambient 
temperature probe in the grill to see what temp is being maintained.

I have not.
The probe is shaped like an Allen Wrench, so it has about a 4 inch probe on the 
long side, and the short side is about 2 inches until you get to the cord, 
which is oven safe and I think about 4 feet long.  There is a kind of cover 
that does get pretty hot that is on the curve of the probe before the cord.
The cord plugs into a small unit that has the battery and you press the top for 
about 3 seconds or so to turn it on.  Maybe 5 seconds …
You can’t tell it is on without the app which will switch to show you the temp 
when the probe is paired.
You can set a target temp or cook by time.
I use it mostly for doing things on the George Forman grill so I set a target 
temp.
It notifies you when you are ten degrees from your target, then again when you 
hit the target, which isn’t very long when grilling a pork chop or steak.

Now that the app is apparently working, I am curious about the mini. What I 
actually want to use it for is not a grilling thing at all. I would like to be 
able to keep track of the temperature of meat cooking in the slow cooker or in 
a slow oven. Not necessarily a lot of room in there in my slow cooker for a 
chicken and a pro, but I haven’t seen the probe. Has anybody used this device 
in that context with something in a slow cooker?

I only need to track one item, so I bought the iGrill Mini for about $40.00.

They make them with multiple probes if you want to track more items.

Amazon seems like a good place to check.
