Re: Home Pod portability?

2018-02-23 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Hello Mark,

Not taken the plunge yet in buying a Homepod, but following the discussion with
interest.

Currently at home I am using a rather old but trusty NAD 20-30 amplifier with
Heybrook 5 speakers.

Not sure whether Homepod is the way forward but I regularly visit friend’s
houses where their music systems leave a lot to be desired.

Was wondering how suitable a Homepod would be to being used in a situation
where it would be used in multiple homes or a better solution may be found.

RE: Home Pod portability?

2018-02-23 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Malcolm,

I have not yet, nor do I plan on, taking my HomePod to someone else's house
(smile).

However, my best guess is that as long as your HomePod's associated iOS device
has access to a WiFi network, unless you set up restrictions from within the
Home app, all devices on that same network can send sound to HomePod.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Mark

Subject: Home Pod portability?

Hello,

To those of you who already own a Home Pod I would welcome your thoughts on the
following question.

If I visit a friend’s house provided my iPhone had previously joined their
wireless network my Apple Watch will connect to that network perfectly happily.

If I was to take my Home Pod to that same friend’s house would it connect too
or is it restricted to my home network? So how portable is the Home Pod in
this respect.

Thanks.

Malcolm
