This is an iOS9 bug, but it affects only some devices, as you're seeing. I
don't know if forgetting the keyboard on your 5S would help?

Well, I know I've said this a fair few times now ... but it really worked
for me.
Try deleting the current pairing you havef with this keyboard on your 5 and
re-pairing.
