Muting speech would be the best idea, but I don't have a Cheat sheet with
braille display commands. So I'm basically using the display as opposed to
using a Bluetooth keyboard or dictation when the latter is not convenient. But
I still need to interact with a touchscreen to actually make tasks
I am using a humanware be I 32 braille display.

Hi Mary,
have you tried muting the speech for vo on the phone? when I use braille with
the phone, I usually turn off speech because it annoys me to hear it whilest
using braille. I can double check, but I don’t think the same thing happens
with the speech muted that you describe..
