I was more thinking about apps like slicktv and channels. You can put those on 
your iphone by sideloading. Anyone have some experience with tfis?

on some stations website or via the various apps different stations may offer 
you do need to use a paid service of some sort.

As far as I know, you have to subscribe to a cable service to truly watch live 
tv on your apple device. I have Xfinity and use their stream tv app. I suspect 
other cable companies have something similar.
